A blog of Adrian's adventures! (Formerly a Peace Corps Blog) "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." – Mark Twain
The youth group in my site, Jóvenes Por Caazapá (JOCA) and I went to this great bi-annual leadership camp, Jóvenes Por Paraguay (JOPA), a Peace Corps national initiative, in January.
I brought three outstanding youth, Tania, Fabiola, and Carolina, (the entire group of youth and Volunteers are in the picture above) making a difference in site to participate at the camp and further develop there skills in project development and community service with the hope of them sharing this with other youth back home. We actually need to do a small leadership JOPA´i camp in our community in order to go to the next camp, so stay tuned for pictures of that too!
We all had a wonderful time that especially moved and changed the lives of all the youth present for the better. I guided the youth in all the dynamic workshops and activities to help them reach their leadership potential. Our next, and my final camp, will be in July, as I will end my two year plus Peace Corps service in August. Time flies, it has been an amazing experience and my work in youth development as a mentor and a friend is a huge part of that. 😀
